A Long Walk For Outward Bound.
September 2025 I will be walking the entire 870 Mile Wales Coast Path.
The Wales Coast Path
In September 2025 I will be packing my rucksack one again and aiming to complete the entire Wales Coast Path. Walking the 870-mile Wales Coast Path is a challenging and rewarding adventure. It typically takes 6-8 weeks, covering diverse terrain including sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, and forests. Walkers face steep climbs, changing weather, and exposure to the elements.
The unpredictable Welsh weather adds to the difficulty, with rain, wind, and sun often in a single day. The journey demands physical stamina, careful navigation, and mental resilience, but offers stunning landscapes, wildlife, and a unique sense of accomplishment.
I’ll be sharing this adventure as I go on Facebook and Instagram. Make sure to follow along!
I’ll be setting the fundraising target at £7500.
I’ve no idea how we are going to reach this but you’ve got to aim big and you have to be in it to win it.
The Outward Bound Trust
The Outward Bound Trust is crucial for young people today, offering adventure-based learning that promotes physical, mental, and emotional growth. In a time dominated by social media and excessive screen time, outdoor experiences provide an essential balance. Here’s why adventure is important:
1. Physical and Mental Health: Outdoor activities reduce stress and combat sedentary lifestyles, which are common due to excessive screen time.
2. Building Resilience: Overcoming challenges in nature teaches perseverance and problem-solving, skills often neglected in digital environments.
3. Social Connections: Outdoor adventures encourage teamwork and deeper face-to-face interactions, countering the often superficial relationships formed online.
4. Self-Discovery: Nature-based challenges help young people build self-confidence, free from the pressures of comparison on social media.
5. Environmental Stewardship: These experiences foster a connection to nature, encouraging responsibility for the environment.
Outward Bound helps young people disconnect from technology and reconnect with themselves, others, and the natural world.
During the Spring and Summer of 2025 I will be doing a series of smaller scale fundraisers (to all go in the same pot) these will include.
