Hey!
Im Liam Kirkham the person behind
‘A Long Walk for ’
I’m a father of a two living in Devon. I went to an outdoor centre in the Lake District when I was 8 years old. I think, even then ,I realised I had found my happy place and tribe! Every summer from then I went on outdoor adventure holidays.
At 16 I studied Outdoor Sports at college, before working for outdoor centres, working in gear shops, teaching kayaking and guiding white water in Ecuador, Nepal and Bhutan.
Most years I would try carve out an adventure for myself including a solo 14 day white water trip down the Grand Canyon and a self support, multi day, paddle board river trip in remote Nepal.
More recently I have found the greatest adventures in The UK on foot. Walking The South West Coast Path, The Cape Wrath Trail, The Glen Affric Way to name a few.
My focus now is to use adventure to raise money for causes close to my heart but to also encourage anyone out there that the outdoors are on your doorstep, can be of huge value and are for everyone.
A ramble from somewhere along the South West Coast Path.
